Upcoming Events:

  • June 1st-June 11th-EOY Screening Window-students participate in screening 3X per year, Fall, Winter, and Spring

    • Week of June 1st-Fastbride aReading in Grades 2 & 3-whole group, 45-50 minutes on the chromebooks.

    • Fastbridge CBMR-Grades 1-3, oral reading fluency measure, one on one with the teacher, 10 minutes per student.

    • Early Literacy Measures in Kindergarten & Grade 1-one on one, 10 minutes per student

    • EOY Freckle Assessment in Math-45-50 minutes, Grades 1-3

    • Week of June 7th

    • Fastbridge aMath, Grades 1-3, 45-50 minutes, on the chromebook.

    • Fastbridge early Numeracy, Kindergarten, 5-10 minutes per student.

    • This is not high stakes testing, it assists us in planning for student needs in the Fall. Teachers will review the data and plan for student needs.

  • June 3rd-End of Year PTO Meeting-

    • Celebrate our retirees-Mrs. Fales-SLP/Head Teacher & Mrs. Acciardo-Teacher Assistant

    • Approval of teacher and parent grants to enhance & enrich learning at Nayatt School

    • Principal Update-communication plans for the next school year.

  • This year has been challenging for our Barrington Education Community. Let's recognize our teachers, administrators and staff for being the STARS that they are! Make a tax-deductible donation to Barrington Education Foundation, and we will send each of your honorees a beautiful S.T.A.R. certificate.* (Min. of $10 per certificate.) 

  • Orders are due by Wednesday, June 16th. BEF champions extraordinary educational opportunities in the Barrington public schools.

  • June is Pride Month and we will be flying the Pride Flag along with the American flag.

  • The flagpole rope is currently broken, but will be repaired on Tuesday by DPW around 10:30 AM.

  • John, our custodian, will raise both flags at 7:20 AM each day, except rainy days.

  • The colors of the PRIDE flag represent the following:

    • Red-life, Orange-healing, Yellow-sunlight,Green-nature, Blue-peace, Purple-spirit

  • Week of June 7th-Sail into Reading-Nayatt celebrates reading week.

    • Captain Bertoncini and Captain Blanchette, and the Nayatt PTO are planning events for our children.

    • Author Visit, June 8th, the students will Zoom with author, Dorien Brouwers, from across the pond, in England, about her new book, Sail.

    • With gentle wisdom and dynamic art that will sweep you away, remarkable debut talent Dorien Brouwers beckons us to climb aboard and discover the courage, determination, and resilience that resides within us all. 

    • Ideal for all ages and filled with universal themes, the story also features a set of questions at the end that will invite parent-child conversations and encourage readers to explore their own life journeys.

  • Week of June 21st-8:30-9:30 AM-Field Day-Mr. Miller will be looking for parent volunteers

    • June 21st-Grade 1

    • June 24th-Kindergarten

  • Last Day of School, Friday, June 25th.

End of Year Celebrations/Save the Date:

  • Nayatt Third Grade Send Off-Tuesday, June 22nd, 5-8 PM.

    • Car Parade, photos with teachers, certificates of completion, yearbooks, and gifts.

  • June 21st - Third Grade Cookout-students and staff only

  • Approve Revised School Calendar: The revised schedule which is based mostly on the state calendar with some days specific to Barrington was approved. 2021-2022 Revised School Calendar

  • Mask Wearing Required in Schools and At School Events

  • Face Coverings A Message From The RIDOH

  • In alignment with the CDC recommendation, schools must continue to use the COVID-19 prevention strategies outlined in the current version of CDC’s Operational Strategy for K-12 Schools for at least the remainder of the 2020-2021 academic 

  • school year.

Chromebook Care Reminder:

  • Be sure to charge your child’s chromebook each night before sending it to school.

  • Some chromebooks are coming back broken, please provide a cover or case.
