New England Math League
Thirty students from Barrington High School competed at the first New England Math League contest on Tuesday, October 10th. The team recorded a score of 29 points out of a possible 30 points. Noah Higbie, Siddharth Gupta, Zachary Weinstein and Connor Marley led the team with perfect scores of 6 points. Dawn Cheng, Luke Andsager, David Xiong, Michelle Xian, Maddox Godwin, Iris Yang, Justin Kuo, and Sophia Gao made valuable contributions to the team score by recording scores of 5 points each. RHODE ISLAND MATH LEAGUE
The first meet of the Rhode Island Math League was held on October 25th at BHS. Thirty-one students from Barrington competed at the meet. Senior David Xiong and freshman Iris Yang led the team with perfect scores of 18 points. Other high scorers at the meet included Kamran Pahlavi and Justin Kuo with 17 points, Vignesh Peddi, Athena Gao and Michelle Xian with 16 points, and Noah Higbie and Zachary Weinstein with 15 points. The A team placed first in the state at the meet as they scored 94 out of a possible 100 points and came close to the all time record of 97 points. Barrington’s B, C, and D teams placed right behind Wheeler to take the 3rd, 4th, and 5th place spots in the state. State results and individual high scorers can be viewed with this link.

WORKING PAPERS - Working papers can be obtained in the School Counseling office. Please see Mrs. Lamanna for details.
ATTENDANCE REMINDERS
- Parents are asked to call the office or send in a note with your child to be dropped off in the main office no later than 9:00am with any dismissals, tardies, or absences. We ask that you do not call at the time that you want your child dismissed. Advance notice allows the office staff time to update the database alerting teachers of daily attendance ahead of their arrival or departure
- All students are required to sign out before leaving the building. Students will enter and exit through the front entrance only
- If students are not feeling well, they should go to see the nurse who will evaluate the situation and then call home. This allows the nurse the opportunity to monitor health trends
- Any student who is participating in a sport, club or afterschool activity must be in on time (8:30a.m.) and remain in school the entire day
COVID PROTOCOL
- If your child tests positive for COVID, please call the office with their absence so the office can document it. Please also email or call nurse, Tammy Lafreniere at Lafrenieret@barringtonschools.org or 247-3155 as well
- Students can return on Day 6 if they are fever free and will need to wear a mask for the next 5 days.
